Google Eats Their Organic Search Results - Automotive Digital Marketing Professional Community

An interesting article highlighting the SEO challenges that we will continue to face from our competitors...only this time it appears the "competitor" may be named Google...let's hope that our industry does not face this type of issue as Google evolves it's "Trusted Stores" and other "Market Place" strategies. It is conceivable that somewhere in the not so distant future, new and used inventory may be aggregated this way for a fee and displayed in a "Store" environment, that most dealers would have a difficult time saying no to. Could we start losing our own brand identity on the all important "page one" for our name and have our customers shuffled off to a Google owned property where the real competitors are? Let's hope not. While we may not be able to do much about this, if it even happens at all, it does highlight how important it is and will continue to be, to own as much of your primary page one as possible.
